South Elgin Man Charged With Burglarizing Two Elgin Homes

Prison Jail

SOUTH ELGIN, ILL. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A South Elgin is charged with burglarizing two homes on the same day in Elgin and is being held in the Kane County Jail on $200,000 bail. The burglaries happened September 23 on Combs and Plato roads.

A resident provided detectives with the license plate number of a vehicle seen in the area at the time of one of the burglaries.

Deputies stopped Chefonne Montgomery when he was driving the vehicle this week and took him into custody when they learned he was driving on a suspended license.

Deputies said they found some of the stolen items in the vehicle Montgomery was driving.
