(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A southwest suburban eye doctor is being sued by a patient who says he operated on the wrong eye -- and then, tried to correct the mistake in the recovery room without using anesthesia or sterile instruments.

It was August 2017 when Sutton Dryfhout -- then 19 -- was set for surgery on her left eye to remove a cyst.

Then, she said, Dr. Ticho came into the recovery room and used a needle and other instruments she says she later learned had been used in surgery on someone else.

She said doctor started a procedure on her left eye without anesthesia.

"He inserted the needle into my eye and started injecting something.  I felt burning and I told him to stop.  And he didn't stop."

Sutton Dryfhout says she has headaches and double vision and will have to have more surgery.

Now, she's suing Dr. Ticho and his medical team.

WBBM has tried to reach the doctor for comment.
