CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- It’s summer in Chicago and we’re in the middle of the long Fourth of July holiday weekend. That combination has a lot of people enjoying the outdoors.
At Rainbow Beach Park on the South Side, some people took a dip in the choppy lake as others watched the unusually high waves generated by strong breezes.
Others took a leisurely stroll along the lake or through the grass and trees of the neighboring park. Some had picnics and barbecues.
"Right now we are going to go to Indiana and get gas," Greg Todd said with a laugh.
