
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Four people were injured Thursday after a taxi, pickup truck and school bus crashed in Avalon Park on the South Side.
The pickup was driving northwest on Chicago Avenue at about 5 p.m. when it blew through a red light at Stony Island Avenue and hit the southbound taxi, Chicago police said.
The pickup kept moving until it hit a school bus, police sources said.
The pickup’s driver, a 53-year-old man, was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition, police said. A female in the taxi was taken to the same hospital, where she was stabilized.
The school bus driver, a 55-year-old man, was stabilized at Jackson Park Hospital after feeling pains at his waistline, police said. A woman on the bus, 68, was taken to the same hospital for shoulder pain, and was said to be in good condition.
The pickup’s driver was not cited, police said.
