CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A woman faces several charges after allegedly shooting a Chicago police officer Saturday night in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.
During a search of the home, officers uncovered a large amount of marijuana, a semiautomatic pistol and "large bundles" of cash, police said. Petronella was then arrested and later charged.
No shots were fired by officers, police said.
Police Supt. Eddie Johnson said the officer had been with the department for more than four years and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Petronella was ordered held without bail at a Sunday court hearing. Her next court date was set for Monday.
