CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A suspect has been arrested in the fatal shooting Friday of a 9-year-old boy who was playing on the Near North Side, Chicago police said Monday.
Janari Ricks was shot and killed Friday while playing in a vacant lot near the site of the former Cabrini-Green housing project.
Related:Police Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan told reporters Monday he’s confident charges against the suspect will be approved soon. He credited neighbors with helping officers locate the suspect quickly.
