WEST CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A man from suburban West Chicago has been found guilty of sexually abusing a teenage girl he coached at a private athletic club.

Jon Miki, 51, of the 2500 block of Havens Drive, was convicted of two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse related to abuse that allegedly happened on two occasions in his home in March 2018, the DuPage County state's attorney's office said in a statement.

The 17-year-old girl's parents grew suspicious of her relationship with Miki and contacted authorities, prosecutors said. Miki was charged in December 2018 and ordered held on a $75,000 bail. He posted bond two days later.

"Not only did Mr. Miki abuse his victim, he also abused the trust placed in him by the victim's parents as well as the athletic community in which he was involved," State Attorney Robert Berlin said in the statement.

The Kane and DuPage County Children's Centers both assisted with the case.

Miki's sentencing date was scheduled for Aug. 1.
