CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A 36-year-old woman was shot and killed Monday morning in a motel in Norwood Park on the Northwest Side, police said.
She was inside a motel room with a 64-year-old man at about 11 a.m. when someone knocked on the door, entered and fired shots, Chicago police said.
The woman died at the scene with a gunshot wound to her head, police said.
The shooting happened at the Esquire Motel, 6145 N. Elston Ave., according to a law enforcement.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified her as being Lila Sims of Louisville, Ky.
Area Five detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
