Cubs legends past and present welcomed viewers to Marquee Sports Network, the new exclusive home of the Cubs. Marquee is owned by the Cubs and Sinclair Broadcast Group.
It rained on launch day, delaying the debut play by play broadcast. A spring training game between the Cubs and Oakland A's from afternoon to evening.
The Tribune reported some viewers had a hard time watching the channel due to technical issues at the outlets that do carry marquee.
Marquee has yet to reach a distribution deal with Comcast, so it is not available to most cable subscribers in Chicago.
