CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Social media footage shows the use of raised draw-bridges along the Chicago River for personal thrills.

The video being shared across Twitter shows multiple people sitting on top of the raised Franklin Street bridge with the Merchandise Mart in the background.

They scaled the bridge and were perched high above the street.

"Chicago!" one person can be heard saying.

"Hell yeah, brother," said another, as a girl laughed.

"We're just chilling...on a bridge that's raised."

The video pans around showing Wacker Drive, the Chicago River, and a dizzying view straight down the surface of the bridge that is normally a road when the bridge is lowered.

The bridge is 220 feet long, so the section they scaled is 110 feet above the road.

The bridges were raised to restrict the flow of people involved in protests and looting.
