CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – With their favorite holiday right around the corner, the Trinity Irish Dancers want to teach you some of their jigs!
After St. Patrick’s Day, Trinity launches into its spring and summer camps. They are either four-day courses or once a week for four weeks and focus on Irish dance basics such as foot placement, balance, leg and foot strength, and posture while learning a traditional Irish dance. Students will gain confidence, muscle memory, and learn to take control of their bodies, as they move around the dance floor. Each course will focus on a different dance. No previous dance experience necessary.
“I think something that makes Trinity unique and helps us teach the children more than just Irish dance is the lessons you learn here – it’s very subjective. Irish dancing is different than a sport where you have to cross the finish line. It’s all about learning from your challenges, learning from your successes, when you reach a goal, we celebrate it and then we move onto the next thing,” Donaldson said.
