WEST DUNDEE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall is now on display in West Dundee.
The 375 footlong replica circles around the Randall Oaks Park and was bustling with vistitors Friday. The replica has 1,500 American flags and features over 58,000 names.
Julianna Blaylock, outreach manager for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, said it has been amazing to being the national monument to local communities like West Dundee.
She said that most children, veterans and local families might never be able to see the real monument in Washington, D.C.
"This is bringing that to them, helping educate them and helping them never foget this time period," Blaylock said.
The memorial wall will stay in the park throughout the weekend.
