WEST CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Bailey Zydek's last semester of college is on hold due to COVID-19, but her passion for fitness remains active.
"I think that's a really crucial part of staying mentally healthy is being able to workout," Zydek said.
Having been a fitness instructor at Illinois State University, she's tailored High-Intensity Interval Training to fit within the guidelines of social distancing.
Workouts include leg exercises, core training and running laps around the cul-de-sac.
"I measured out the distance on my car, the cul-de-sac is 0.1 miles. So, if we do 10, we end up running a mile," she said.
Zydek has only lived in her neighborhood for about four years, but she said staying six feet apart has brought her neighborhood closer together.
"I just love seeing that we can all come together in a crisis like this," she said.
