(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- We are not fooling you. There is big news for WHO fans!
The Who announced Monday they will be returning to the stage for the 2019 "Moving On! Tour" in North America.
The tour kicks off in May, with the band making stops in 29 cities. The band will do two legs of the tour, one wrapping on June 1, and the second taking place in the fall from Sept. 6 to Oct. 23. On stage, fans will witness familiar Who players, including guitarist/backup singer Simon Townshend, keyboardist Loren Gold, bassist Jon Button and drummer Zak Starkey. The performance will be complemented by some of the best orchestras in the U.S. and Canada.
"The Who are touring again in 2019. Roger christened this tour Moving On! I love it. It is what both of us want to do. Move on, with new music, classic Who music, all performed in new and exciting ways. Taking risks, nothing to lose. Looking forward to seeing you all. Are you ready?" said Pete Townshend.
"Be aware Who fans! Just because it's The Who with an orchestra, in no way will it compromise the way Pete and I deliver our music. This will be full throttle Who with horns and bells on," Roger Daltrey added.
The tour stop in Chicago takes place May 21 at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre.
Tickets for the "Moving On! Tour" go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, Jan. 18 at LiveNation.com. The Who's fan club presale starts Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. and runs through Thursday, Jan. 17 at 10 p.m.
But that is not the only WHO news!
The Who will also be releasing their first album of new songs in 13 years later this year. Those who purchase tickets for the concert online will receive a redeemable code for a CD copy of The Who's forthcoming album when it's released.
In addition, $1 from each ticket sold for the Moving On! Tour will benefit Teen Cancer America.
