CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Monday became an even more challenging day for many parents with kids learning at home, when the Zoom platform was not available for many users.
Aurora parent Nicole Chesley said the day began unpromisingly when her three children logged onto their computers and tried to access Zoom.
“Sweet mercy,” Chesley told WBBM Newsradio’s Jennifer Keiper.
The mother was able to use her own Zoom credentials so that her youngest child could get some measure of access.
But her two middle-school-aged children effectively missed their entire first day of school.
Chesley says the family has made contact with the IT help desk and school district, but they were swamped with similar calls.
She credits the school district for keeping in touch and says the most important thing to remember is:
“We really do just have to stay fluid. Everyone is actually in this boat.”
