WBBM Newsradio writer/editor Geoff Dankert is a Peabody-, Murrow-, and Emmy-award winning journalist and producer. He works as part of the team of anchors, reporters, writers and other professionals behind the station's afternoon and evening newscasts, including the WBBM Afternoon News Update. Since becoming afternoon editor in 2014, he's been a key part of newscasts that have won some of the industry's highest honors, including recognition from the Illinois Broadcasters Association and the Associated Press.

Before joining WBBM Newsradio in 2012, Geoff worked for more than 20 years in television newsrooms across the country, including 12 at Chicago's WFLD-FOX 32. He landed his first paying job in journalism at the age of 15, rewriting press releases for his hometown newspaper. Geoff is a native of Flint, Michigan and a graduate of Michigan State University.

Outside the newsroom, Geoff's interest include classic cars, travel, discovering new restaurants, and playing with his three rescue dogs. He and his husband live in Chicago's Roscoe Village neighborhood.
