CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Three years after a woman and her son were found murdered in their Sycamore home, DeKalb County authorities continue to search for answers.
"The community here in Sycamore has not forgotten," said Sheriff Roger Scott.
Sheriff Scott said the investigation into the murders of 85-year-old Patricia Wilson and her son, 64-year-old Robert Wilson in August of 2016 remains a top priority.
"Obviously, there were no witnesses," Scott said. "It was in a relatively rural area, though very close to the city of Sycamore. At this point, we have not been able to develop a clear motive."
"The investigators have interviewed, re-interviewed, been through the neighborhood many times and followed up every lead," Scott said. "We just are not able to complete the case at this point. But I believe someone knows something. We would hope that they would share that for the sake of the family."
Anyone with information they have not already given to police should contact DeKalb County Crime Stoppers at 815-895-3272, or email crimestoppers@dekalbcounty.org.
