Guitarist Joel Paterson has been a fixture on the Chicago music scene for more than 25 years.
Besides his longtime residency at the Green Mill on Monday nights with his quartet, Paterson performs regularly in the city and suburbs.
The SUN-TIMES reports that this week, the 55-year-old Paterson started performing with Bob Dylan's band per the music icon's request, and Paterson will be playing guitar with them again on July 8th in Chicago at Northerly Island.
Paterson's fellow musician Casey McDonough says Paterson announced on their band's text chain that he couldn't perform with them this week in Andersonville on the city's North Side because the guitarist {quote} “was going to work with someone named Bob”.
