Funding for the third screen came partially from a 2025 community development grant from the City of Chicago for the conversion of two commercial storefronts into the 98-seat theater with state-of-the-art technology.
The new screen is housed under the Music Box Theatre’s same roof, just south of the theater’s current entrance at 3733 N. Southport Avenue.
The Music Box, which opened in 1929, has a 700-seat theater, and a 62-seat theater that was added in the 1990s.
