CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Gary Police officer got emotional on his last day on the job and shared a video of it on Facebook.

Office Jeston Walker wrote, "Today is bittersweet, I'm working my last day at the Gary Police Department. It's been more than a pleasure and a great experience working these past 8 years. I've met and served alongside some great people, as well as my time as a detective, field training officer, honor guard, Swat Operator, and a FOP executive board member. I will be starting a new journey and career that's better for my family and myself. Y'all continue to stay safe my brothers and sisters. I'm 10-42 for the last time.-- Officer J. Walker #1560"

He shared a video.

He recorded himself sitting in a squad car getting increasingly emotional as one after another his colleagues wish him well. He is seen wiping away tears as he listens.

"Thank you all, my brothers and sisters. Appreciate all the times I have spent with y'all. Y'all continue to stay safe. 10-42," Walker said, closing out the video.

Walker is moving on after eight years with the Gary Police Department.
