Hamilton: The Musical To Close The Curtain In Chicago In January 2020

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The curtin is closing on "Hamilton: The Musical" in Chicago early next year.

The Chicago musical production of Hamilton will conclude its more than three-year run in Chicago at the CIBC Theatre on January 5, 2020, according to Broadway producer Jeffrey Seller.

The hit musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda began performances on September 27, 2016 at what was then The PrivateBank Theatre. Chicago was the first city outside New York where Hamilton: The Musical opened. By January 2020, more than 2.6 million people will likely have seen the musical in Chicago.

“More people have seen Hamilton in Chicago than any other city, including New York,” said producer Jeffrey Seller.  “Chicago has been a cornerstone of our mission to make Hamilton as accessible to as many people as possible.  We’ve loved our time here, and you can bet that ‘we’ll be back’.”
