CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- From Anchorman and onesies to football and basketball jerseys, themed road trips are nothing new for the Cubbies, as they leave Wrigley Field for away-game series - but Sunday night's theme may take the cake as one of the best.
On Sunday night, as the Chicago Cubs left Wrigley Field to Colorado to take on the Rockies in a three-game series, the team held a Jon Lester-inspired road trip.
Cubs players dressed up like Jon Lester complete with cowboy hats, boots, and dress shirts tucked into jeans.
That's right the team took their horses straight to the Old Town Road...the question still remains though if they were wearing Wrangler on their booties.
Majority of the team donned the cowboy getup, except for Anthony Rizzo. He had his own take on the Jon Lester-inspired road trip and came dressed in Americana - patriotic shorts and an open short-sleeve dress shirt. Plus he brought along a a box of fried chicken and a six-pack of beer.
