CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Almost seven years to the day of the stabbing murder of newlywed Estrella Carrera in Burbank, the FBI has added her husband to its 10 Most Wanted List.

The FBI and the Burbank Police Department announced Wednesday the addition of an alleged murderer, Arnoldo Jimenez, to the FBI's list of 10 Most Wanted Fugitives.


Jimenez, 37, is the 522nd fugitive to be named to the FBI's list of 10 Most Wanted Fugitives, according to the FBI. Jimenez is being sought for his alleged involvement in the murder of his new wife the morning after their wedding. The FBI states that he should be considered armed and dangerous.

The FBI said in a statement that it is believed Jimenez allegedly stabbed his wife to death on May 12, 2012 in his black, four-door, 2006 Maserati, then allegedly dragged her body into the bathroom tub of her apartment in Burbank, Illinois. Burbank Police Chief Rick Shore said Arnoldo Jimenez fled after the murder, possibly to Mexico. Carrera's body was found in a bathtub in the her apartment in the 7800 block of Rutherford Avenue.

"I first want to express my condolences to the victim's family for their tragic loss seven years ago, and thank the FBI for their assistance, commitment, and dedication in our investigation," said Chief Shore. "This collaborative partnership will continue until Arnoldo Jimenez is apprehended and brought to justice, and I ask for the public's assistance in locating Arnoldo Jimenez."Investigators said they hope by adding Jimenez to the 10 Most Wanted List and offering up to a $100,000 reward, they'll get information that helps them find him after seven years.

Jazmin Carrera, Estrella's sister, hopes for the same.

"We know nothing with bring Estrella back, but at least we can have some kind of peace knowing Arnoldo is paying for his crime. Jimenez also uses the aliases Arnoldo Gimenez and Arnoldo Rochel Jimenz. He is described as 6-foot, 200 to 225 pound hispanic man with black hair and brown eyes.
