CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- If you like candy and you’re looking for a summer job, “The World’s Sweetest Internship” may be just the thing.
Mars Wrigley Confectionery, the world’s largest maker of chocolate, chewing gum, mints and fruity confections, is hiring interns and the job description is a candy-lover's dream.
The maker of M&M's, Twix, Snickers, and so many more candy favorites said they are seeking a " passionate advocate with a big heart, boundless imagination and an unwavering commitment to making life in their community just a little bit sweeter."
What does the job actually entail? Besides sampling a selection of chocolate, gum and fruity confections - including flavors offered in 180 countries around the world and some that have not even been put on the market yet, interns will have the opportunity to help the team with event planning, work on the global volunteer program, visit manufacutring sites and learn how candy is made - plus make your own gum; help with the company's mission to create #BetterMoments, and more.
Enhancing the company's social media presence is a big part of the job, so communication and video editing skills are a must - it's not all about being a candy lover.
"The World’s Sweetest Internship" is an eight to 12 week, fully-paid program that offers a signing bonus of one year’s worth of candy.
Applicants must be at least 21-years of age, but possess "the mindset of a kid in a candy store" and be a high school graduate or the equivalent.
Mars Wrigley Confectionery is looking for someone who is committed to effecting change in the community, a self-starter, "preferably someone who isn’t afraid to ring every doorbell in every neighborhood on Halloween," and passionate.
