CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Hundreds of people lined the streets Friday in Waukegan to say good-bye to four people killed in a chemical plant explosion last Friday.
Flowers, candles, and four crosses lined the fence that surrounds what is left of AB Specialty Silicones plant on Sunset Avenue in Waukegan. Hundreds turned out for the memorial service to honor the four workers killed - 53-year-old Byron H. Biehn of Brighton Township, Wisconsin; 57-year-old Jeff Cummings of Kenosha, Wisconsin; 24-year-old Daniel Nicklas of Beach Park, Illinois; and 29-year-old Allen Stevens of Salem, Wisconsin.
David Adams, pastor at New Song Ministries in Zion, knew Jeff and Byron and said they were a lot of fun.
"Both of those guys smiled easy. They were easy going guys, wonderful, and everybody loved them," Adams said.
Fire officials said there is no evidence of any foul play. They believe the May 3 explosion was caused by something in the process at the plant and was accidental.
