A River North business owner says the city needs to do something about migrant children out on the streets late at night after a child was body-slammed by a woman outside the establishment.
Sam Sanchez, owner of Moe’s Cantina, shared video on social media.
He didn’t witness the incident. He learned about it later. And he shared the surveillance video.
It shows a child selling flowers outside the business.
An adult approaches her and appears to reach into the pockets of her hoodie.
The woman then slams the girl to the pavement.
“A heart-breaking case of an 8-year-old girl little girl who was violently body-slammed by an intoxicated individual,” Sanchez said in a video.
“We continue to see children on the streets late at night, sometimes until 3 or 4 o’clock in the morning selling flowers while their parent, guardian, whoever, are nowhere to be found,” he said.
He said the city needs to do something about kids being out on the streets late at night in potentially dangerous situations.
"We urge the city of Chicago to take immediate action," Sanchez said. "Implement and enforce curfew to protect minors from late night street activity."
