CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A bicyclist died after someone struck him with a vehicle Friday afternoon in Jefferson Park on the Northwest Side, according to police.
Czeslaw Kosman, 78, was biking “erratically in circles” about 1:10 p.m. in the 6200 block of West Higgins Avenue when he rode into oncoming traffic, striking a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
Paramedics took Kosman to Resurrection Medical Center, according to a Chicago Fire Dept. spokesman. Police said he was pronounced dead.
The Nissan’s driver, a 39-year-old woman, was cited for failure to reduce speed and having no proof of insurance, police said.
