A little first half trickery helps the Bears pull away from the Cowboys. Eventually winning big, 31-14.

Hand off up the middle, flea-flicker back to Caleb Williams, and he completes a 65 yard touchdown pass to rookie receiver Luther Burden.

Williams; 19/28 passing, 298 yards, career high matching four touchdown passes, to Burden, Rome Odunze, DJ Moore and Cole Kmet.

"They schemed up some really good stuff."  Kmet says.  "Conceptually, even not just for the tight ends but you look at Luther's play, Colson's play down the sideline, my play in the end zone, Rome's play there.  Just really well schemed up plays against that type of defense.  Did a good job of that.  And Caleb did a good job of distributing the football all over.  So, it was really good to see."

And for the first time in his short career the offensive line keeps him upright.  Williams doesn't get sacked at all.

"They've been working their tail off.  You know we had four (sacks) last week (in Detroit).  Williams says.  "That plays a part for me being able to get the ball out, tire the defense out, run the ball well.  You know from there it's just being able to go out there and execute the plays and deal."

Williams QB rating is a sizzling 142.6.  Roasting his former head coach and current Cowboys defensive coordinator, Matt Eberflus.

Bears linebacker Tremaine Edmunds makes 15 tackles with two interceptions, including a game-sealing pick in end zone with 4:47 left in the fourth quarter.

"It felt good."  Edmunds says of the Bears first win of the season.  "First two weeks it hurt.  We stayed together as a team.  We had some tough conversations that needed to be had.  And the focus was just on playing a complete game this week."

Montez Sweat and Dominique Robinson each make a sack.

It's the first head coaching win for Ben Johnson, who toasted the team's effort with an enthusiastic "break down" in the locker room."

"Repeat after me now!"  Johnson hollers.  "Do it better, better!"

And the players scream back, "Do it better, better!"

Johnson- "Never let it rest!"

Players- "Never let it rest!"

Johnson- "When the good gets better!"

Players- "When the good gets better!"

Johnson- "You better get best!"

Players- "You better get best!"

Johnson- "Bears on three!  1-2-3!"

Full team- "BEARS!"

Rookie tight end Colston Loveland leaves the game with a hip injury, and will be reevaluated.

The (1-2) Bears turn their attention to the (1-2) Raiders now, and a 3:25 date in Vegas next Sunday afternoon.

The Raiders just got swallowed up by Washington, 41-24, allowing 24 consecutive Commanders points after tying game 10-10 in the second quarter.

Vegas QB Geno Smith; 289 yards, 3 touchdown passes, 0 interceptions, in defeat.
