CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Ten people face charges connected to a multi-state retail theft ring operating in Chicago.

According to the Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow, authorities found about $7.5 million worth of items through search warrants executed in Illinois and California.

Authorities also found what they say is "evidence of a sophisticated criminal enterprise." Items the individuals stole from Wilmette led to an 18-month-long investigation and ultimate identification of the theft ring.
