18-year-old charged with November murder of teenage girl, man

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago police have made an arrest in the deadly shooting of a 15-year-old girl and another man on the West Side.

Edwin Lagunas was taken into custody on Saturday and is now facing several charges, including two counts of first-degree murder.

The 18-year-old allegedly shot and killed a 15-year-old girl and 44-year-old man who were at a party in the Austin neighborhood.

It happened last month near West Augusta Boulevard and North Mayfield Avenue.

A 38-year-old man was also shot and seriously injured.

In addition to first degree murder, Lagunas was charged with attempted murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm.

He was expected in bond court later on Monday.
