CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Two people are in custody following a police chase that ended in a crash just feet from a Lollapalooza entrance.
Chicago Police said the two suspects were driving southbound on Michigan Avenue in a White Jeep early Thursday evening, as they attempted to flee from the pursuit of a police car. They eventually crashed, rear-ending two other vehicles near Harrison, and in close relation to a Lollapalooza gate.
Officers nearby who were securing the festival apprehended the suspects, placing them into custody, according to police.
Police said, upon searching the Jeep, officers found "felony quantity of cannabis" as well as a gun.
There were no injuries at the scene of the crash, and police said the chase was unrelated to Lollapalooza.
