(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Two people are hospitalized after getting shocked while on Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) tracks in Oak Park on Saturday night.

The CTA said two unauthorized people were on the tracks at the Ridgeland Station on the Green Line.

Oak Park Village spokesman Dan Yopchick said the fire department responded shortly before 7:30 p.m., after a man and a woman touched the third rail.

The pair were headed to Lollapalooza with a group and jumped on the tracks to take pictures, Yopchick told WBBM. Both individuals are in their 20s.

Yopchick said the woman might have been trying to help the man, who was in cardiac arrest.

Both people were removed from the tracks by friends and taken by paramedics to the hospital. Officials said the man was in critical condition. The woman was conscious.
