CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A shooting on DuSable Lake Shore Drive Tuesday left one person dead and another wounded.
It happened at about 1:20 pm, according to police. A 26-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were in a Jeep SUV going south. Just before the 47th Street exit, shots were fired at their car.
The woman, in the passenger seat, was hit in the head and the man was hit in the torso and legs. He was able to exit and pull over.
Both were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. The woman, identified as Dashawnna Threatt, of Bellwood, later died.
It’s unclear if the shooting was captured on surveillance video, or if any witnesses were able to assist. Police have not said whether this was a road-rage incident or something else.
Nobody is in custody.
