KENOSHA, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Authorities continue to search for the person who fatally shot three people and wounded two others when they opened fire at a Kenosha bar early Sunday morning.
The shooting happened about 12:45 a.m. at the Somers House Tavern, according to Kenosha County Sheriff David G. Beth.
“There was gunfire inside and there's also gunfire outside,” Beth said during a press conference.
The Kenosha County sheriff's office said three people died and two victims were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The shooter has not been caught and investigators believe this was a targeted and isolated incident.
The bar, located at 1548 Sheridan Road, is close to the Carthage College campus and is popular with students.
The sheriff said it was very busy at the time, and there was surveillance video in the area of the shooting.
