CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - One person was killed and three others were hurt after a SUV slammed into a CTA bus Thursday morning.
Chicago police said the accident occurred shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Columbus Drive near Roosevelt Road, close to the Museum Campus. A Volkswagen collided with a CTA bus, killing the SUV’s 34-year-old driver.
Three other people were transported to area hospitals. One of those victims was sent to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
Columbus was blocked for hours as police investigated the scene. The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
The CPD’s Major Accidents Investigation is handling the case.
