Five teens critically hurt after crashing stolen car into fire hydrant on South Side: CPD

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police said five teenagers were injured overnight by a crash in the Englewood neighborhood.

Police said the victims had been speeding in a stolen Chevy sedan when the car crashed into a fire hydrant on 69th and Lowe, around 3:15 a.m. Tuesday.

All five victims were taken to hospitals in critical condition. They include a 13-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl, taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, and two 14-year-old girls and a 13-year-old girl  taken to Stroger Hospital.

Chicago Police's Major Accidents Unit is investigating.
