CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - It's been five years since two men were killed in Rogers Park by a man with an unusual gate.
The suspected serial killer, dubbed the “Duck Walk Killer,” still has not been caught.
Douglas Watts, 73, was walking his dogs when a gunman shot him in the head on Sept. 30, 2018.
The suspect was masked and in all black. Police believe the killer was captured on surveillance video just moments after the first murder.
The Duck Walk Killer’s next victim, Eliyahu Moscowitz, was walking in Loyola Park just after 10 p.m. on Oct. 1 when he was shot in the head.
Bill Morton, president of the Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce, said, after five years, it's time to bring the families closure.
“I believe that Rogers Park is very disappointed that they have not caught the ‘Rogers Park Killer.’ I will not call him the ‘Duck Walk Killer.’ He’s the Rogers Park Killer. We’ve never seen anything like this in the city,” Morton said.
The community raised an award of $155,000 for anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the ‘Duck Walk Killer.’
Morton said the community is still looking for answers.
“I think the record high reward for the Rogers Park Killer is justified. We need someone to turn on the Rogers Park Killer. Somebody out there knows,” said Morton.
No arrests have been made. Police have said the gun used in the two killings was also used in two more shootings on Chicago's West Side.
