WAUKESHA, WI (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Seven Chicago men have been charged in a luxury car heist that happened in Wisconsin nearly a year ago.
It was last February when a Jaguar and Land Rover dealership in Waukesha, Wisconsin, was burglarized.
Police said at the time, the burglars found key fobs and drove away in nine vehicles.
Police Captain Dan Baumann told CBS News Chicago this was an organized ring.
"This just wasn't a group of kids that just decided to stay up late one night playing video games and say, 'Hey, let's go see if the nine of us can travel two hours away to commit crimes,” Baumann said.
Three of the men were later convicted of committing a murder during a carjacking in Milwaukee.
Police said they connected all the suspects to the Waukesha case because they were on a group call at the time.
