Eight people were killed and 25 others were wounded — including a 5-year-old boy — in shootings over the weekend across Chicago.

The boy and a man were shot while traveling in a car Sunday evening in Rogers Park on the North Side. The man, 25, was driving on Paulina and Howard  when another car pulled up around 5 p.m. and someone fired shots, police said. The boy was hit in the head and was taken in critical condition to Lurie Children’s Hospital, police said. The man suffered gunshot wounds to the hand and shoulder. He drove himself to St. Francis hospital, where he is in good condition.

A woman was killed and a man was wounded outside the Morgan Park district police station Sunday night. The two were in a car on  Vincennes near Monterey when a gray Chrysler began chasing them and someone inside fired several shots, police said. The driver, a 42-year-old man, attempted to get away and drove toward the police station, police said. He made it to the sally port of the station when the other car pulled up and someone fired several more rounds. The man was taken in serious condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. The woman, 46, was shot in the head and was taken to the same hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

A person was found fatally shot just after 2 a.m. Sunday in South Austin on the West Side. He was found by officers on Superior near Grand with a gunshot wound to the neck and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he died, police said.

Saturday afternoon, two men were fatally shot in the South Chicago neighborhood. About 3:15 p.m., responding officers found the men lying in the street at 83rd and Paxton. Both had been shot multiple times and were taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where they later died. One man was identified as Cinque Dunn, 20, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Police said the second man was 32.

Early Saturday, a 26-year-old man was found dead at 29th and Poplar in Bridgeport with a gunshot wound to the head.

About 1:30 a.m. Saturday, an 18-year-old man was shot to death while on a front porch of a home in Chatham on the South Side. A resident of the home found Kenneth Rufus with multiple gunshot wounds after hearing “a loud disturbance” from outside around 1:30 a.m. at 87th and Normal, police said. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died.

About 9:20 p.m. Friday, a 50-year-old man was killed in a restaurant on Division and Washtenaw  in East Garfield Park, police said. Someone outside the restaurant shot him through the window, striking him once in the neck. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died.

Two hours earlier, Randal Wilson, 65, was standing near the front of a home on Hamlin near Ferdinand in Humboldt Park when someone shot him in the chest, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A woman was shot just after midnight Saturday on a CTA Red Line train in the Loop. The 30-year-old was on the train on State and Madison  when there was a “verbal confrontation” and someone opened fire about 12:10 a.m., police said. She was shot once in the knee.
