CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The CPD has issued an alert concerning commercial burglaries on the North Side.
This comes from the 19th District or the Town Hall District, headquartered in Wrigleyville.
According to police, eight bars or restaurants were burglarized on Wednesday and Thursday. In each incident, police said, two men used a pry tool to break door locks. Once inside the businesses, they damaged cash registers and office file cabinets, stole property and fled on foot.
Six of the burglaries occurred on Thursday between about 3:45 a.m. and 8 a.m. Four on an eight block stretch of Lincoln Avenue between 3900 North and 4600 North. Police have surveillance video.
Detectives are investigating and they want other businesses in the area to be aware.
