In June 2023, court filings say DyeQuan Kizer was on the phone with the mother of his children when he overheard the woman arguing with her new boyfriend at that man's residence.
Kizer drove to the home in Gary, Indiana where the two men got into a heated argument, and it ended when Kizer fatally shot the boyfriend in his chest.
The POST TRIBUNE reports the defense attorney says Kizer---who signed a plea agreement for voluntary manslaughter---had no criminal record.
