A church has a 'house' issue in St. Charles

The Baker Memorial United Methodist Church wants to tear down a house it owns to build a parking lot.

That's according to CRAIN'S which reports on Monday, the Saint Charles City Council voted that the Judge Barry House---built in 1841---cannot be torn down.


The president of Landmark Illinois, who sides with the city, says Saint Charles and Baker Memorial should create a solution to the church's parking needs "without erasing history".
