CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Chicago alderman, who is a frequent critic of Mayor Lightfoot, shared unflattering video on Twitter of police officers struggling to arrest someone. He suggested that police are a joke, because of the Mayor and the State's Attorney.
The video from a cell phone camera gives the impression police are not in control. Officers are struggling to arrest someone while another person tries to help him and a third man shoots the video and narrates.
An officer’s handcuffs and body camera are on the ground.
Alderman Ray Lopez, who shared the video, wrote, "Can’t follow in a car. Can’t chase on foot. Can’t tase an armed suspect. Won’t prosecute the arrested."
He goes on to write, "Law enforcement in Chicago is an absolute joke thanks of Lightfoot & Foxx. And not a parent in sight - until someone is shot after reaching for a gun, instead of the handcuffs."
