(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- An outspoken South Side Alderwoman who has openly criticized the Johnson Administration said she thinks he can succeed.
Ald. Jeanette Taylor, 20th, recently drew notice for saying the progressive movement was not ready for Brandon Johnson to win the mayor's race and be in charge.
She says that doesn't mean Johnson is incompetent, but, yes, she has some criticisms with the way his administration has handled some issues.
Progressives and the mayor's office haven't fully embraced the platform that got them to the 5th Floor of City Hall, Taylor said. She says organizing and collaborating is the way to address problems, which range from crime to the migrant crisis.
She said she and the mayor will continue to meet. As for other critics, Taylor said some have unreasonable expectations that Johnson can wave a magic wand to fix things.
