CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A resident in the Irving Park neighborhood wants a letter "returned to sender" after a holiday tip meant for his letter carrier is picked up by someone else.
A homeowner left an envelope with $60 cash taped to his mailbox that was supposed to be for the woman who regularly delivers his mail. He wrote the name "Alma" on it as well as "USPS" to make it clear who the envelope was for.
However, the homeowner told CBS 2 his doorbell video camera shows an Amazon delivery man took it instead, which he has a hard time believing was a mistake.
The man said he shared the video with Amazon, which refunded his money. However, he contemplated filing a complaint with the Postal Service, but doesn’t want to start a federal case against the Amazon employee.
"I could call Postal Service and file a beef with them - and then it becomes a federal offense," he said. "I don't know if the guy really wants it to go that far."
