Antioch man charged with hate crimes, accused of threatening Jewish congregations

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Lake County prosecutors say a grand jury has indicted an Antioch man arrested last month on hate crime charges.

33-year-old Christopher Williams is accused of threatening national Jewish organizations, then, making "repeated direct threats of violence" against members of a Lindenhurst congregation, Sanctuary Messianic Congregation.

Antioch Police arrested Williams late last month after what authorities said was a months-long investigation.

Wednesday, Lake County prosecutors say a grand jury indicted him on hate crime charges.

Williams has another court appearance next Wednesday, May 24, for arraignment.
