(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Another Illinois resident has admitted to participating in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Robin Lee Reierson is a 69-year-old employee of Argonne National Laboratory. He pleaded guilty to a felony charge of assaulting, resisting or impeding officers.

It’s alleged that he joined a group of other protestors pushing through a barrier and into a line of officers.

He’s been employed as a welder at Argonne for 40 years.

According to federal prosecutors, someone tipped the FBI that a lab employee may have been involved. And agents matched his driver’s license picture to video from the riot.

They also tracked the movement of his van, using tollway records that showed that the van was driven to Washington D.C. on Jan. 5 and returned to Schiller Park on Jan. 7.

Reierson is among about 50 Illinois residents who have been charged in connection with Jan. 6.
