
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Arlington Heights police are investigating an apparent murder suicide over the weekend.
Police said they received a call at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday from a man claiming he had just killed his wife and dog and was going to kill himself.
Officers responding to the home near Campbell and Mitchell entered after hearing a single gunshot. Inside, they found a woman sitting at the dining room table and a dog, both dead, and a man in the next room still breathing and holding a gun.
He died at the hospital Sunday afternoon. The Medical Examiner has identified them as 74-year-old Cynthia Armstrong and 76-year-old Ronald Armstrong.
