(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Several days after a Jefferson Park man told police a woman threatened his wife, drove through his yard and rammed his neighbor’s car, there are criminal charges.

Arrested was a 49-year-old woman who lives less than a mile from Peter Czosnyka, the homeowner whose security camera documented the early morning incident when a driver plowed into his garden while screaming and finally ramming a neighbor’s car.

Czosnyka got the driver's license plate number, alerted police and told his story to the media. He suggested the incident was some kind of reprisal for his criticisms of local Ald. Jim Gardiner. He said the woman who vandalized his lawn told his wife earlier, “Tell your husband to stop following the alderman.”

Maureen McGlade was charged with two misdemeanors: criminal damage to property and failure to notify authorities after damage to an unattended vehicle.

She was also cited for no valid registration.

McGlade has not returned messages from WBBM Newsradio, and neither has the Gardiner, who represents the 45th Ward.
