The WasteShed is moving out of its Evanston location.
Staff at the creative reuse center say the move to Broadway and Foster will give them more room and put them closer to public transit.
Those who run the thrift store for art supplies have been searching for a new location since their partner, the Evanston Rebuilding Exchange, closed abruptly in October 2025.
The WasteShed boasts its Evanston location kept 55,000 lbs of material out of landfills last year and gave teachers about $1,600 worth of free supplies each month.
The non-profit’s location in Humboldt Park remains open.
The WasteShed has been fundraising to help pay for the move to Edgewater and plans to open sometime in October.
